For item 3 : NEMA17 stepper, it is a special stepper with a threaded stainless steel rod 300mm long fixated as shaft instead of just a blank short shaft. It is commonly used for linear actuation (eg Z-axis).

*edit : some thoughts about our local surplus/junk stores and those i hear about overseas, over here, our junk industrial resellers sell the parts for profit, not for the purpose of clearing them. Because here, they have to PAY to buy over JUNK (yea you heard right). so a junked used stepper as i have found out, costs about US$25, fwwoooo daylight ROBBERY !!!
